Audi A6 vs. Volvo V50 Review

The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs almost the same to get the Audi A6 to the dealership as the Volvo V50. The Volvo won't save you much money at the pump compared to the Audi A6. When it comes to gas mileage, the Audi A6 and the Volvo V50 don't differ much. The Audi A6 is tremendously more expensive than the Volvo V50 as far as MSRP.

Utility
The A6 and the Volvo can accommodate the same number of passengers.

Convenience
You'll most certainly have to take the Volvo for a fill-up more often than the Audi because of its tank size and gas mileage.

Comfort
Taller drivers will significantly enjoy the extra head room in the Volvo's front cabin compared to the A6. The Audi A6 provides more head- and leg-room to your passengers than the Volvo V50 does.

Dimensions
The Audi A6 is considerably more bulky than the Volvo V50. Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the Audi than the V50 because of its larger tank. The Volvo and the Audi compete for the same parking spaces. The Volvo V50's shorter wheelbase may produce a less-settled highway ride but a more maneuverable feel in daily traffic than the Audi A6.

Performance
In terms of horsepower, the Audi A6 packs quite a punch and will knock the Volvo down a few rungs. However, bear in mind that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums. With that kind of horsepower, the Audi A6 is a true speedster.

Handling
With its tighter turning radius, the Volvo V50 is quite certainly more maneuverable than the Audi A6, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; however, note that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Volvo V50's engine is significantly smaller than the Audi A6's. Bear in mind that a smaller engine usually has to work a little harder; on the other hand, smaller engines are often cheaper to fix. The Audi A6 packs quite a punch compared to the V50 as far as torque, which is roughly equivalent to acceleration.
