Audi A6 vs. Volkswagen Passat Review

Performance
When it comes to horsepower, the Audi A6 packs quite a punch and will knock the Volkswagen Passat down a few rungs. On the other hand, bear in mind that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Handling
With its tighter turning radius, the Volkswagen Passat is most certainly sprier than the Audi A6, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; however, keep in mind that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Audi A6's engine is significantly larger than the Volkswagen Passat's. Remember that more massive engines may use more gas than smaller ones. Torque is roughly equivalent to acceleration, and in this respect, the Audi A6 is considerably more powerful than the Volkswagen Passat.

Utility
The A6 and the Volkswagen Passat can accommodate the same number of passengers.

Convenience
The Volkswagen's fuel tank will need to be replenished somewhat more often than the unit in the Audi.

While the front cabin in the Passat offers a bit more head room than the Audi A6, there frankly isn't much of a difference. The Volkswagen is not particularly more spacious for your passengers than the Audi A6.

The Audi A6 is significantly heavier than the Volkswagen Passat. Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the Audi A6 than the Volkswagen Passat because of its larger tank. The Volkswagen Passat and the Audi compete for the same parking spaces.

The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. The Volkswagen is considerably cheaper to get to the dealership than the Audi A6. Regarding gas mileage, the Volkswagen and the Audi A6 don't differ much. The Volkswagen Passat won't save you much money at the pump compared to the Audi A6. The Volkswagen Passat is tremendously less expensive than the Audi A6 as far as MSRP.
