Utility
Neither the Acura RL nor the Lexus GS 460 has a marked advantage as far as seating capacity.

Dimensions
The Acura is substantially more bulky than the Lexus GS 460. The GS 460's tank is roughly the same size as the RL's, though the Acura RL's is somewhat bigger. The GS 460 and the Acura RL compete for the same parking spaces.

Convenience
You'll most certainly take the Acura RL for a fill-up almost as often as the GS 460.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs roughly the same to get the Acura RL to the dealership as the Lexus GS 460. Regarding gas mileage, the Lexus is a little better than the Acura, but not by much. As far as MSRP, the Lexus GS 460 costs about as much as the Acura RL (though the Acura RL is a bit cheaper).

Handling
With their comparable turning circles, the Acura RL and the Lexus GS 460 quite certainly handle about the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The GS 460's engine is significantly bigger than the RL's. Note that more massive engines may use more gas than smaller ones. Torque equals pickup, and the Lexus GS 460 will have picked up and gone by the time the Acura RL finally gets moving. The Lexus GS 460 packs quite a punch compared to the Acura RL regarding torque, which is roughly equivalent to acceleration.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Acura offers a bit more head room than the Lexus GS 460, there honestly isn't much of a difference. While the rear of the Acura RL provides a bit more head- and leg-room than the Lexus GS 460, there frankly isn't much of a difference.

Warranty
The GS 460 and the Acura RL have the same basic after-sale protection.
