2013 Acura MDX Overview (See Available Styles)

The 2013 Acura MDX is a luxury midsize SUV that is highlighted by its great handling and stellar towing capacity (up to 5,000 pounds).

From the outside, it’s easy to tell the MDX is an Acura with its sharply angled body and large shield grille that scales to fit the MDX better than it does some of Acura’s passenger cars. The MDX wears its size well, when viewed from the front/sides it doesn’t seem overly bulky or cumbersome. 18-inch alloy wheels and xenon HID headlights are standard, while 19-inch alloys are optional.

Each 2013 MDX comes with a 300-horsepower, 3.7-liter V-6 that makes 270 pounds-feet of torque under the hood that is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The MDX’s handling prowess comes to it by virtue of its Super Handling All-Wheel drive system, which moves power and torque around to the wheels which need traction the most under cornering. An active-dampening suspension is optional.

Inside, the MDX seats up to seven passengers across three-rows of seats. The interior is luxury car worthy, with comfortable seating and plenty of refinement. Standard features include tri-zone automatic climate control, an auxiliary audio input, Bluetooth connectivity, driver’s seat memory, leather upholstery, and heated front seats. There are also a slew of available tech options such as a USB/iPod port, rear seat entertainment system, navigation system with real-time traffic and weather data, and GPS-linked temperature control.

Safety comes standard on the 2013 MDX which earned a Top Safety Pick award from the IIHS. Antilock brakes, side-impact and side curtain airbags, active front restraints, an electronic stability system, and a back-up camera are all standard, while a blind spot warning system and adaptive cruise control are optional.

With superb handling and plenty of luxury accoutrements, the 2013 Acura MDX is the car to take you anywhere and ensure that you’re comfortable doing so.
