For 2009, Saab offers an all-wheel drive system, XWD (Cross Wheel Drive) as standard equipment on the limited-edition 9-3 Turbo X and 9-3 Aero when fitted with the turbocharged 2.8-liter, 280-horsepower V-6 engine. The 9-3 is available as a four-door sport sedan, exhilarating convertible, or spacious SportCombi wagon

The high-performance 9-5 receives minor changes this year and sports a 260-horsepower 4-cylinder turbocharged engine as an elegant four-door sedan or flexible SportCombi wagon. A high-gloss metallic black exterior finish is new for the 2009 Saab 9-5.

There are no significant changes for the off-road-capable 9-7X luxury SUV. The 9-7X seats five and competes with the Volvo XC90 and Volkswagen Touareg 2.
